'Lillies Dying' and 'Split into Fractions' are sublime and spine-tinglingy exciting. There are other good tracks, and a couple of weak ones; all in all a good album, though on the whole not as good as the material on the early eps (on the collection 'Pubic Fruit'). Shame about the awful cover (which reminds me of The Human League's 'Reproduction')/5(48).

Jan 10,  · referencing Doppelgänger, LP, Album, RE, 3RANGELP After an initial listen, I'd have to guess this is a simple repress and print reproduction of the original LP issue. I don't hear anything in the sound to indicate it's a remaster of any sort/5().

The album sags a bit in the middle, but that could be because of listener fatigue; "Lilies Dying" is very generic, and although "Ice that Melts the Tips" is a good song, I was getting tired of the unvarying vocal style by that point. I cannot recall "Split into Fractions", but the album /5(38).

Along with the first string of brilliant singles topping the indie-charts in the early 90s, Curve's 'Doppelgänger' stands as their best body of work ever since for several reasons - it is naive, disturbingly haunting, sonic and makes it worth every listen you give.
